FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about NexTick360.
Getting Started
- What is NexTick360?
- NexTick360 is a real-time coaching app for futures traders. It watches your trades as you take them, measures how well you executed (slippage, mark-outs, MFE/MAE), catches behavioral mistakes like revenge trading, and tracks your prop-firm eval rules live. It's a desktop app that runs alongside the platform you already trade.
- How is NexTick360 different from a trading journal?
- Most journals tell you what went wrong after the fact. NexTick360 coaches you in real-time during your trading session. It calculates execution metrics instantly after every fill, detects behavioral patterns like revenge trading, and shows everything on a dockable HUD overlay. The web analytics journal provides deep post-session review.
- Do I need to change my trading platform?
- No. NexTick360 runs alongside whatever platform you already use — NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, Bookmap, Quantower, or any other. It reads the orders and fills your account reports, in the background. Your workflow stays exactly the same.
- How long does setup take?
- About 5 minutes. Download, install, connect your trading platform, select your instruments, and you're ready. The onboarding wizard guides you through every step.
Platforms & Data
- What execution platforms are supported?
- Any of them — what matters is your execution connection, not the front end you trade in. If you route through Rithmic, TradeStation or CQG you are covered, and that includes NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, Bookmap and Quantower. Most brokers and prop firms offer at least one of the three, and many offer more than one. Every connection is read-only: it receives your orders, fills and positions, and nothing else.
- Does NexTick360 place trades?
- Never. Orders and fills come in; nothing goes back. It cannot place, modify, cancel or route an order — not as a policy, the capability does not exist in the software. There is no code path from NexTick360 to your broker.
- What instruments are supported?
- CME futures — ES, NQ, YM, RTY and their micros, CL, NG, GC, SI, HG, the treasury complex and the major FX futures. Front-month contracts resolve automatically, so nothing needs reconfiguring when contracts roll.
- Can I use NexTick360 with multiple platforms?
- One active platform connection at a time. If you trade through more than one, switch the connection and your history from both stays in one account.
Privacy & Security
- Is my trading data private?
- Yes. Trades are captured and stored on your own machine first, in an encrypted database, and the desktop app keeps working with no connection. They also sync to your account so the web app can do the analytics, coaching and journalling you are paying for — that is one product, not two. Your data is isolated from every other customer's, enforced by the database itself and not just by our code.
- How are my platform credentials stored?
- Credentials are encrypted using Windows DPAPI (Data Protection API) and stored in the Windows Credential Manager. They never leave your machine and are protected by your Windows user account.
- What data do you collect?
- Your trades, and what you write about them. That is what the product analyses — there is no version of it that coaches you without reading your trades. They are held in a tenant-isolated database and we never share individual trading data with anyone.
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- Your local data stays on your machine — it's yours. You can export everything held in your account at any point before you cancel, and that copy is retained for 30 days afterwards before it is deleted.
Pricing & Billing
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. Your 14-day trial is completely free with no payment information required.
- What happens after the trial?
- Your subscription starts. There is one plan and everything is in it — see the pricing page for the current price. Cancel anytime via the billing portal, no questions asked, no cancellation fees.
- Will it help me pass my prop-firm eval?
- That is a large part of what it is built for. It tracks your drawdown (including trailing drawdown), daily loss limit, profit target and consistency rule live, and warns you before you break a rule rather than after. Apex, Take Profit Trader and MyFundedFutures rules are built in. Always confirm the exact numbers against your firm's current rules.
- Is there an annual plan?
- Monthly only. One plan, one price, and you can cancel whenever you like.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Cancel through the billing portal at any time. Your subscription ends at the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.
Technical
- What OS is supported?
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). The desktop half is a native Windows application because it has to keep up with a live session; the web half runs in any browser, on any operating system.
- Will NexTick360 slow down my trading platform?
- No. NexTick360 runs in its own process and is built for speed — efficient data structures (ring buffers, event sourcing) keep it light. Coaching appears the moment a trade closes, with no impact on your trading platform's performance.
- How does the HUD overlay work?
- The HUD is a transparent, always-on-top window that docks to the edge of your screen. You can adjust its opacity, width, and position. It auto-shows when your platform connects and auto-hides when you disconnect. You can also cycle through different widths and dock to either screen edge.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not currently. NexTick360 is designed for the desktop trading environment where real-time coaching during live sessions matters most. The web analytics journal is accessible from any browser for post-session review.
- Do you support crypto or forex?
- No. NexTick360 covers CME futures. If you trade crypto or spot forex, this is not the tool for you and we would rather say so.
