FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about NexTick360.
Getting Started
- What is NexTick360?
- NexTick360 is a real-time coaching app for futures traders. It watches your trades as you take them, measures how well you executed (slippage, mark-outs, MFE/MAE), catches behavioral mistakes like revenge trading, and tracks your prop-firm eval rules live. It's a desktop app that runs alongside the platform you already trade.
- How is NexTick360 different from a trading journal?
- Most journals tell you what went wrong after the fact. NexTick360 coaches you in real-time during your trading session. It calculates execution metrics instantly after every fill, detects behavioral patterns like revenge trading, and shows everything on a dockable HUD overlay. The web analytics journal provides deep post-session review.
- Do I need to change my trading platform?
- No. NexTick360 runs alongside whatever platform you already use — NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, Bookmap, Quantower, or any other. We listen to your platform's data feed in the background. Your workflow stays exactly the same.
- How long does setup take?
- About 5 minutes. Download, install, connect your trading platform, select your instruments, and you're ready. The onboarding wizard guides you through every step.
Platforms & Data
- What execution platforms are supported?
- Rithmic is the first supported connection in our launch build (AMP, Optimus, NinjaTrader-via-Rithmic). TradeStation and CQG are planned at launch — CQG is what powers Take Profit Trader accounts. Every connection is read-only — we listen to your data feed and execution stream, nothing more.
- Does NexTick360 place trades?
- Never. We are strictly read-only. We listen to your execution data and market data feed. We never send orders, modify positions, or interact with your trading account in any way. This is a core architectural principle, not just a policy.
- What instruments are supported?
- All CME futures: ES, NQ, CL, GC, YM, RTY, 6E, ZB, ZN, and more. Any instrument your platform provides through their data feed. NexTick360 auto-resolves front-month contracts, so there's no reconfiguration when contracts roll.
- Does this require a CME data license?
- NexTick360 is designed to use the market data feed you already receive through your execution platform and exchange entitlements. We don't redistribute raw market data, and you remain responsible for maintaining valid data entitlements through your platform.
- Can I use NexTick360 with multiple platforms?
- The initial release supports one active platform connection at a time. Multi-platform support is on the roadmap.
Privacy & Security
- Is my trading data private?
- Yes. All trading data is stored locally on your machine in an encrypted SQLite database. Nothing is sent to the cloud unless you explicitly opt in to cloud sync for the web analytics journal.
- How are my platform credentials stored?
- Credentials are encrypted using Windows DPAPI (Data Protection API) and stored in the Windows Credential Manager. They never leave your machine and are protected by your Windows user account.
- What data do you collect?
- By default, zero. The desktop app works entirely offline. If you opt in to cloud sync, your trade data is stored in a tenant-isolated database (database-per-tenant architecture). We never share individual trading data.
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- Your local data remains on your machine — it's yours forever. If you used cloud sync, you can export your data before cancellation. Cloud data is retained for 30 days after cancellation before deletion.
Pricing & Billing
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. Your 14-day trial is completely free with no payment information required.
- What happens after the trial?
- You pick a plan — Trader at $49/month or Performance at $79/month — and it starts then. Cancel anytime via the billing portal, no questions asked, no cancellation fees.
- Will it help me pass my prop-firm eval?
- That's exactly what the Performance plan is built for. It tracks your drawdown (including trailing drawdown), daily loss limit, profit target, and consistency rule live, and warns you before you break a rule. Always confirm the exact numbers against your firm's current rules.
- Is there an annual plan?
- Not yet — monthly only for now. We'll add annual pricing with a discount down the road.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Cancel through the billing portal at any time. Your subscription ends at the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.
Technical
- What OS is supported?
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). The desktop app is built as a native Windows WPF application for maximum performance during live trading sessions. macOS support is planned for a future release.
- Will NexTick360 slow down my trading platform?
- No. NexTick360 runs in its own process and is built for speed — efficient data structures (ring buffers, event sourcing) keep it light. Coaching appears the moment a trade closes, with no impact on your trading platform's performance.
- How does the HUD overlay work?
- The HUD is a transparent, always-on-top window that docks to the edge of your screen. You can adjust its opacity, width, and position. It auto-shows when your platform connects and auto-hides when you disconnect. You can also cycle through different widths and dock to either screen edge.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not currently. NexTick360 is designed for the desktop trading environment where real-time coaching during live sessions matters most. The web analytics journal is accessible from any browser for post-session review.
- Do you support crypto or forex?
- The initial release focuses on CME futures. Forex and crypto instrument support may be added in future releases depending on broker data feed availability.
